Teenager Arrested And An Illegal E-Bike Seized

Monday 18th May 2026

From the Facebook page of Warminster Police:

We have arrested a teenager and seized an illegal e-bike following targeted police work in Warminster.

On Friday (15/05), officers from Trowbridge Team 3 attempted to stop three youths riding illegal e-bikes in the Bradley Road area of Warminster. The riders ignored police direction and made off from the scene.

During the attempted stop, officers were able to identify one of the individuals involved — a 16-year-old boy.

The following day, the teenager was arrested for four traffic offences, including driving without insurance. A Section 18 search was authorised, during which officers located and seized an illegal e-bike linked to the incident the previous evening.

The bike was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.

PC Rideout from the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This is great work by officers from Response Team 3.

“The seizure of a known e-bike, used carelessly for several weeks and which we know has been causing alarm and distress to the public, is a positive step. We are aware of further bikes and will be targeting them soon.”

If you have concerns about illegal e-bikes or e-scooters in your community, please report them online, via 101, or 999 in an emergency.

Wednesday 13th May 2026

Lacey Phacelia flowering at the Warminster Community Orchard, Boreham Road, Warminster.

Lacey Phacelia is also known as the purple tansy, the fiddleneck and the bee’s friend. Not only does it attract bees but also butterflies.

As well as attracting pollinators it is also a weed suppressor.

Lacey Phacelia is a native of the south-west USA and north Mexico but can now be found elsewhere in the USA and in Europe.

The seeds only germinate in darkness.
