From The Warminster Herald, Saturday 12 November 1870:
A gang of gipsies visited Warminster on Saturday last, and pitched their camp in a field belonging to Mr Bush, situate on the Boreham Road, where they remained till Tuesday, when they left for Salisbury, much to the relief of parties living on the Boreham Road, and we believe to the inhabitants of the town generally. We understand that they purposed, had the field been longer at their disposal, giving a series of public balls.
