We are appealing for information following a theft at Longleat.
A lead sword was stolen from a historical statue within the secret gardens of Longleat House.
The lead sword, in scabbard about 1 foot in length, was taken from the statue of Sir Jeffrey Hudson between 9 May 2025 and 5 August 2025.
Hudson served as a prominent member of Queen Henrietta Maria’s court in the 17th century. The stone statue is a depiction of Hudson in his court attire. The item is of historical value.
