A comment on the Facebook page Spotted In Warminster Town:
Taking the family to see Warminster town play football shouldn’t leave you feeling ashamed – particularly when your team win.
As a local business owner I was interested in sponsoring our town’s team but while there is such disgraceful behaviour by the fans, I have no interest in having my business name associated with Warminster Town Football Club.
The away team were subjected to a ridiculous amount of abuse by a large group of lads who were told several times to pipe down but continued to be really aggressive in there behaviour and demeanour. Win or lose its about the game on the pitch not being aggressive and intimidating. The behaviour ruined it for many true home team supporters there today.
Whether you’re home or away, win or lose you should let the play on the pitch do the talking and not be intimidating, aggressive or behave in a manner that gives your team a bad name.
Warminster Town Football Club have responded:
We are very sorry to read this post but please rest assured we are aware of the recent problem and are determined to sort it out.
The behaviour from this group of lads will not be tolerated and will do our upmost to stamp it out, starting at our next home game on Wednesday evening.
Plans will be put in place immediately to stop these individuals attending matches and ruining the atmosphere at our lovely club.
If anyone has any concerns about attending or any comments please message our Facebook page and these will be passed onto the committee.
