Announcement From The Avenue Surgery, Warminster:
Sadly we have reached the capacity of our appointments today, Please only come into the surgery to speak to a member of the team if you have a pre booked appointment.
If you feel you need to be seen by a clinician today, We may direct you to a local Minor Injuries Department or the NHS 111 service.
We are asking patients to:
• Use the POD service for prescription enquiries by calling 0333 332 0050.
• Visit a pharmacist for minor health concerns. They are experts in medicines and qualified healthcare professionals, they offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for a range of minor illnesses, such as coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble and aches and pains.
Additionally the “Pharmacy First” initiative now enables Pharmacists to offer additional medicines, such as antibiotics in some cases, for some common illnesses:
Acute Sore Throat
Earache
Impetigo
Infected Insect bites
Shingles
Sinusitis
Urinary Tract Infection (in women)
If your call is a medical emergency or potentially life threatening, please call 999 or go to your local Accident and Emergency Service.
If you need to request a limited emergency supply of a medicine you’ve completely run out of you can use the online Emergency Prescriptions service at 111 NHS.UK
