Warminster Civic Trust, in its newsletter, issue number 33, April 2011, referring to the Warminster Town Plan, noted ~
“East Street. East Street is the eastern gateway into the town. It suffers however from a number of rundown buildings and a poor street environment. When combined with queuing traffic that is waiting to negotiate the junction with Station Road, it provides a poor first impression for visitors arriving from the Salisbury direction. Against this background, the extension of the paving improvements in Market Place and the introduction of a one-way system along this area could help to improve the environment. But, perhaps more fundamental, the weak commercial prospects in this part of town suggest a move towards increased residential use of related properties.”
