Death And Probate: John Coope

John Coope died, aged 70, at 35 George Street, Warminster, on 22nd November 1896. His obituary noted that he was “formerly of Camberley and late of Colchester. Indian and Colonial papers please copy.” Probate of John Coope’s will, written on 3rd September 1894, was granted on 18th December 1896. The solicitors were Wakeman and Bleeck, of Warminster; the witness being Charles A. Bleeck, solicitor, and Thomas J.Rushton, chief clerk.

John Coope’s widow, Kate Baxter Coope, is listed in the Warminster & District Directory of 1900 as still resident at 35 George Street, Warminster. She had formerly been living with her sister and brother-in-law at Salisbury. John and Kate Coope had three children – Kathleen Beatrice Coope (1886 – 1966), Ida May Coope (1888 – 1972), and Trayton Coope (1890 – 1965).
