Commercially, Frome continues to make steady progress. The Westway Shopping Centre is now firmly established and is much appreciated by townspeople and visitors alike for its convenience, giving shopping facilities in a relaxed and safe atmosphere with plenty of car parking and a bus stop nearby. The shop premises in the newer Kingsway precinct will soon all be filled. This precinct also has car parking facilities.
Between the two precincts lie the busy Market Place and all the other older shopping streets. Cheap Street offers good shops with an atmosphere of old-world charm while the area from Catherine Street through to Palmer Street has a reputation as the area of the individual specialist shop, the place for the shopper who is looking for something a little bit different.
