Protection has been proposed for green field sites around Warminster. West Wiltshire District Council’s planning policy working group has been told Warminster is coming under pressure from developers and landowners. It is the only town in Wiltshire that does not have a buffer zone. It is therefore vulnerable to large developments in many green areas between the built-up area and the A36 Warminster Bypass.
Members of the working group have unanimously supported the proposal. They agreed a rural buffer zone should be included in the next district plan for Warminster.
