Arthur Shuttlewood, in one of his books – Warnings From Flying Friends – Flying Saucer Revelations, published by Portway Press in 1968, noted:

Significant names which, Biblically, denote the ‘taking off’ point for the cherished and hoped-for ‘goal’ at ‘death’ and the means – the golden ladder – by which one ascends to the space vehicle taking the departed there . . . . .
