Bishopstrow Mill

Bruce Watkin, in his Bishopstrow Village Trail leaflet, produced in 1984, later incorporated into the book Trails In And Around Warminster published in 1985, noted:

The Mill, downstream of the old Manor House site, has a long history. It was valued at 15s. in 1086, higher than most (river) Wylye mills and was employed in milling grist and fulling from the 16th to the late 18th century when it was part of the Everett clothing “empire” for a few years.

The present 3-storey brick mill-building replaces that burnt down in 1873. The modernised cottages nearby are basically 18th century stone.
