Dear Madam,
I heard on the Wiltshire radio that you were going to write a dramatisation of life at Imber before the War. If it is correct or not I do not know but my mother’s family were born and bred in the village nearly a century ago.
My grandfather was the shepherd on one of two farms which existed then, his name was Marsh; his wife, my grandmother, was named Early and her brother, who was the organist in the chapel, was one of a gang of four men who made dewponds which was the only source of water cattle had use of.
If you are requiring information about Imber I will supply as much as I know. There are photos available. The village is no more, just a ruin but I should like to think that a record is being made.
Sincerely, Mr R. Brinkworth.
Please telephone if interested as letters are going astray.
