Brook Street, Warminster Resident ~ Ivan John Graham

Ivan John Graham was born in Marylebone, London, but moved to Birmingham, where he spent his childhood. In his late teens he emigrated to Canada, where he worked for three years. On his return to England, he took a job at the Old Bell, Market Place, Warminster, where he met his wife-to-be Amy. In 1939 John Graham was called up, serving in the RAF at Wick and Leuchars in Scotland. John and Amy were married at the Parish Church of St. Denys, The Minster, Warminster, during September 1941.

John enjoyed painting and art, and a picture he did of St. Denys Church, was donated to the The Minster. John Graham worked at the REME Workshops, Warminster, for a number of years, and later at the School of Infantry, Warminster, until his retirement. John Graham, who lived at 58 Brook Street, Warminster, passed away on 14th April 1992, aged 77. His funeral was held at St. Denys Church, Warminster, on Tuesday 21st April 1992. Mr. Alan Davis conducted the service and Mrs. R. Davis played the organ. The hymns were The Old Rugged Cross and Abide With Me.
