Salisbury and Winchester Journal, Monday 24th March 1806:
“DEPTFORD INN – ON THE BATH ROAD. Central House between Sarum and Warminster; also situate on the great Western Road for London to Exeter, through Andover, Amesbury, &c. WILLIAM LANGLEY, with Gratitude, acknowledges the favours conferred on him by the Nobility, Gentry, and Public in general, since succeeding to his Father in the above Inn, and Begs, through this medium, to inform them the addition to his house now complete, and comfortably fitted up for their reception. A new range of stalled stabling enables him to render great accommodation to families and others travelling with their own horses. *** Neat Post Chaises, and Wines and Spirits of the best quality. Bath, Bristol, Southampton, and Portsmouth Coaches every day.”
