Seeking Support For The Warminster Community Workshop

Wednesday 30th August 2023

A message from the Warminster Community Workshop:

Coming soon: The Warminster Community Workshop, a brand new extension of Warminster Action Group (WAG). We’re proud to announce that we’ll also be members of the UK Men’s Sheds Association. This forthcoming community workshop is designed to be a welcoming space where friendships flourish, creativity is nurtured, and the community spirit is very much alive.

The fabulous Colin French will be steering the ship, and he’s been hard at work with a fantastic team of shedders, busy preparing and decorating the space for its grand opening.

But this won’t just be a place for projects; it’s a sanctuary-in-the-making for connection, collaboration, and compassion. Everyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, will find a home here to share skills, learn new ones, or simply have a good chat over a brew.

We’d love your support to bring this dream to life. Consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign

Friday 11th August 2023

David Pollard has been in touch. He writes:

Just a heads up! The brilliant team at Warminster Library has updated the stock of books on Warminster’s history, in its local history section. The stock now on the shelves includes many new books and some probably never seen before. There is a good selection of books by local historians. My own book The Astronomical Clockmaker Edward Cockey And Other Warminster Horologists, which has been in the Library’s storeroom for a long time is now on the local history shelves and available for looking at in the Library or lending. Many of Danny Howell’s books are now at Warminster Library too.

A small team made great progress yesterday in preparing the community workshop/ mens shed (open to all) above WAG [at Wilson And Kennard’s Yard] in town. There’s holes to fill, painting to be done and organising the space to accommodate tools and equipment.

We have been overwhelmed by the offer of tools and materials, thank you all. Please go to our gofund page is you wish to donate, the project will be run on a shoestring but we need funds to get it ready and to run. https://gofund.me/1a6af28e
