It will soon be time for the Warminster Independent Summer Market on Saturday 29th June.

Warminster Business Network in conjunction with Warminster Town Council will host the event. There will be something for everyone, with the Warminster community encouraged to support both the independent stalls and established shops and services.

Building on the success of the Warminster Independent Spring Market – 80 stalls, food vendors and funfair rides will greet visitors with the community uniting once again – as the market promotes local businesses and encourages visitors to all areas of the town.

Warminster Business Network in conjunction with the town council will deliver the Warminster independent Summer market.

A Warminster Business Network spokesperson said: “It is great to be able to bring another event to the town centre, following on from the previous successes. Increasing the footfall, exposure and dwell time within the town centre is incredibly important for all businesses and creates a lovely community atmosphere.”

The High Street and Market Place are set to be closed with multiple independent stalls in the town centre, as well as a popular indoor market with even more independent stallholders in the Civic Centre from 10am to 4.30pm.

Athenaeum Warminster will be hosting craft activities with visitors encouraged to come and have a look around Wiltshire’s oldest working theatre auditorium. There will be volunteers on hand to show people around the building. The Box Office will also be open and teas and coffees will also be available.

There are also plans for a Food and Drink Festival on Sunday 1st September, and the Christmas Market event on Saturday 30th November, which will include the Warminster lights switch-on.

Further details about the Summer Market entertainment, road closures and stallholders will be released via the Warminster Town Council website and social media pages, as well as the Warminster Independent Instagram page.

Thursday 23rd May 2024

Press release from Warminster Town Council:

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐮𝐛 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠

Warminster Town Council has remained committed to the Councils’ Strategic Plan by agreeing to install solar panels on the Warminster Community Hub building near Central Car Park.

With the transfer of the hub building to Warminster Town Council from Wiltshire Council, officers have sought tenders for installation.

Members resolved to proceed with the installation of solar panels on the hub building and to appoint Company C to carry out the work, subject to satisfactory structural roof surveys being completed. The ‘payback’ time for the cost of installing solar panels on the building is estimated at four to five years.

Cllr Andrew Cooper said: “This is another excellent example of how Warminster Town Council seeks to protect the environment and the public purse”.

Warminster Town Council currently has solar panels installed on the Civic Centre, the Boathouse in Lake Pleasure Grounds and the toilets at Central Car Park.
