Saturday 4th January 2014

The scene today at Park Cottages, Boreham,
as the River Wylye and the surrounding water meadows
swollen with water over flow and the water
approaches Boreham Road.

Water up to the doorsteps of Park Cottages.

Too deep for wellington boots.

Water along the rear of Park Cottages.

Awash with water at the backs of Park Cottages.

The run off from the watermeadows and the
old watermeadow ditches at Boreham
brings flood water up to Park Cottages.

Photographs taken by Danny Howell.

This is reality yet a developer wants to build
a housing estate on the adjacent water meadow.

And the rain starts again, adding to the threat.

Resident Mrs. Jean Whelan surveys the watery scene.

The little wood adjacent the cottages
is under water and the water is pouring
out on to Boreham Road.
