Snap Fitness Have Been In Warminster For Three Years

Saturday 28th September 2024

A message from Snap Fitness, 4 Castlemore Retail Park, Warminster:

What a day it’s been.

3 years we’ve been in this amazing town! We have been truly honoured to watch each & every one of our members on their fitness journey. Watching them go from strength to strength & achieve every single one of their goals.

It hasn’t been easy during our 3 years here, we’ve had to sit and watch outside noise put us down, create fake stories about how we operate & label us all sorts at every step of the way . . . . For simply just being here.

At Snap Fitness Warminster You aren’t “just another number” to us. We truly do care for our members & take the time to get to know every one of them! We’ve built some amazing friendships along the way. Every decision we make is based on bettering their experience. We invest so much back into our gym providing them with the best equipment around. We are always there to say hello and goodbye.

We do the absolute most for our community, despite the label that we aren’t a community gym. We work with all local businesses and offer their employees corporate memberships & drop in from time to time to host wellness events for their staff. We sponsor the Warminster cricket team & multiple football teams in Warminster. Helping to provide funding for each team. We work alongside Kingdown and offer their students work experience within our gym where they can learn the industry ropes. We give back to our community more than anyone else.

None of this would have been possible without our amazing members, so thank you to each & everyone of you. We truly love our Snap Family we have here.

Here’s to many more years to come!

Thank you Warminster.

Free Talk About Wiltshire Postal History

Sunday 22nd September 2024

Julia Roberts writes:

Warminster Philatelic Society is hosting a talk about Wiltshire Postal History next Tuesday, 24th September 2024, at St. John’s Parish Hall, Boreham Road, Warminster, BA12 9NY, starting at 7.30 pm.

There will be a lot of interesting examples of old covers, postmarks, etc., relating to Wiltshire Postal History.

The Society recently had a talk on French postal history and the lecturer provided some incredible historical letters. He showed us old covers from the French Revolution which included an original death warrant signed by Robespierre. There were covers sent to a French Captain whose ship had battled at Trafalgar. There were interesting French covers dating from the Peninsula War to WW1. All were laid out in a sequential timeline. The lecturer explained the changes in French covers throughout history.

Our Society’s talks are informative  history lessons with real historical examples, with members taking years to collect their covers, letters, postmarks, postcards and stamps.

Anyone interested in Wiltshire Postal History is welcome to attend our talk next week. There will be no entry charge for this particular talk.

Closure Of WAG School Uniform Bank

Tuesday 10th September 2024

A message from the Warminster Action Group (WAG):

Important Update: Uniform Bank Closure

Dear Warminster Community,

We wanted to let you know that after much consideration, we’ve decided to close our Uniform Bank. Over the past few years, it’s been wonderful to see how the Uniform Bank has supported families, but due to a lack of volunteers to run it effectively and with many local schools now offering second-hand uniforms themselves (raising funds for their own causes or giving them to people in need ), we feel it’s time to step back from this service.

However, we do still have some uniform left! If you’re in need, please pop in on either a Wednesday or Thursday over the next few weeks to see what we have available.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who’s donated, volunteered, and supported the Uniform Bank over the years. You’ve made a real difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

We’ll continue focusing on our other community initiatives and look forward to your continued support in creating a connected and caring Warminster.

Thank you all again for being a part of this journey.

The WAG Team.

Children Are Quite Hungry At New Close School

Friday 6th September 2024

From the Facebook page of New Close School, Warminster:

Now that our day is extended and lunch is slightly later, we are noticing that the children are quite hungry. Please provide your child with a healthy snack for breaktime. If your child is in Rabbit, Hedgehog and Squirrel class they are provided with a free piece of fruit/vegetable each day. However, the children don’t always like the item available so we are recommending that you provide an additional snack for them to eat as well.
