At a meeting of the Planning Advisory Committee of Warminster Town Council, held at Warminster Civic Centre, on Monday 22nd May 2017, when committee members Denis Brett, Sue Fraser, Rob Fryer, Steve Jeffries and Paul Macdonald were present, the naming of streets for the new development off St. Andrews Road, Warminster, was an item on the agenda. The minutes record that:

PC/17/012 Street Naming.
New Development St Andrews road, Warminster.
The members agreed in principle to the new development using birds’ names but felt that it should be specifically birds of prey. They wanted some clarity on how many roads were being named and requested that this be sought from the developers.

Three Members Of Staff At Warminster Hospital To Cycle London To Paris To Raise Funds For The Multiple Sclerosis Trust

Friday 4th March 2016

Three members of staff at Warminster Hospital, namely Sarah Hill (Physio), Anne-Marie Nuth-Harrison (Longleat Ward) and Sue Westlake (also Longleat Ward), who collectively call themselves ‘The Longleat Ladies’, are to cycle from London to Paris, in July 2016, to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust. Their target is £4,500. They have already raised £1,176.83.

They are looking for sponsors via their Virgin Money Giving page:
uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/MSL2P2016

They write:

“The challenge is over four days and approx 300 miles. We will cycle a large distance on the first day from London to Dover. We then pedal through Northern France before arriving in Paris on the Saturday before the final stage of the Tour de France.
Day 1 London to Calais 95 miles
Day 2 Calais to Abbevile 75 miles
Day 3 Abbeville to Beauville 70 miles
Day 4 Beauvais to Paris 60 miles.

We are motivated to take on this challenge of a lifetime as we have all had the privilege of caring for MS patients, but also for more personal reasons. Sue’s sister has MS.

None of us know what the future holds so we are seizing the day to achieve this personal goal, and to also help make life better for those living with the condition.

The MS Trust is a small UK based Charity dedicated to helping all those affected by MS, including education and support for health professionals like us. Please visit the website to learn more about the trust:
www.mstrust.org.uk

We have many events planned to help us fundraise and we are thinking big, but we do need a little help from our friends.

Thank you for your support,
Anne-Marie, Sue & Sarah.”
