The Old Fire Station Fundraising Evening For The Charities Supporting Sophie Ward

Fundraising news from Dave and the team at The Old Fire Station 1905, The Close, Warminster:

On Monday 25th November 2024, we are open for the evening to raise money for the charities who are supporting Sophie Ward.

Sophie is a former pupil of Warminster School and a serving member of the Royal Marines Band Service. She met her husband Rich in 2022 and they married in April 2023. Sophie was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in January 2024 aged just 26. Sophie and her family live in Warminster and her younger sister Katie works with us at The Old Fire Station.

Our aim is to book out all tables twice on the evening, with 100% of all money being donated to the #26forSoph campaign, raising money for the Royal Marines Charity, Dorothy House Hospice, and MND Association.

Our staff will be working for free, our suppliers are supporting us to cover all costs and we will also hold a raffle. Our aim is to raise £2600 in the one evening between 5 and 10pm.

We have the usual menu and fantastic beer, wine and cider on offer and the evening will run like any other OFS evening!

Please support us by booking a table. We do not want any empty seats so please note that tables must be of 4, 6, 7 or 8 people. If you are a couple, bring another couple!

Hettie Hen Scotch Eggs And More

Hettie Hen Scotch Eggs are located at Unit 8 of Space2Work, at Furnax Lane, Warminster, BA12 8PE. Their amazing Scotch eggs are already well known in farm shops and at shows all around the South West. They began making sausages but having more than enough meat they progressed to Scotch eggs, That’s how Hettie Hen Scotch Eggs was hatched in 2018 and they have gone from strength to strength. They use only locally sourced free range eggs. Go along to their deli at Furnax Lane, where you can also find sausage rolls, pork pies, chutneys, soup, pastries, cheese, cake and more. Bishopstrow Free Range Egg Shed

Both egg sheds open and stocked – including potential double yolkers on the cardboard trays in the brown egg (a number of these are white eggs from our new white chickens).

Payment by cash or QR code (links to Apple or Google pay or input your card details manually- no need to download the app, just scan, scroll down to the bottom and enter your payment details).

PRICES
Grey egg shed holds the MIXED WEIGHT free range eggs (you will start to see some white eggs from our new baby white hens in this shed – they are delicious). £2.40 a dozen. £6 a tray (30 eggs).

Brown egg shed holds the MIXED WEIGHT organic free range eggs, £3.50 a dozen, £8.75 a tray (30 eggs).

The brown egg shed also holds the jumbo eggs – much larger eggs and likely to be double yolkers – find them on the cardboard egg trays – £4.80 a dozen. 👍🏻

The Graze & Dine story continues!

Due to popular interest, we’re thrilled to announce the Opening of Graze & Dine [at 5 Weymouth Street, Warminster]; a unique experience that’s already been embraced by the wonderful Warminster community at previous events. As part of a local, family-run business, we can’t wait to bring you a delightful, culinary venture with simply delicious food.

Chapter 1 of Graze & Dine’s opening starts on Wednesday 6th December, with a fantastic festive set menu.

This will be available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, until Friday 22nd December. Our cosy, indoor eatery has enough space for 30 guests during each sitting at 5:30-7:30pm and 7:45-9:30pm.

Pre-booking is essential; we are already fully booked for the first sitting on Wednesday 6th!

We will be a “bring your own bottle” space for the first few months but can offer teas and coffees.

If you’d like to try a different take on our festive food which would be perfect for an in-house Christmas lunch, check out the Festive Food to Order Menu – we bring the simply delicious festive food to you, with a collection of brioche rolls, quiches, vol au vents, sausage rolls, tarts, and much more! Collection is available, or we can deliver FREE OF CHARGE within a 5-mile radius of Graze & Dine. All this and you will be supplied with disposable plates, napkins, and Christmas crackers!

Chapter 2 of Graze & Dine’s opening kicks off with a bang in 2024, where you can look forward to a weekly changing set menu on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The “2 sittings per evening’ schedule will remain the same, so again, pre-book!

In Spring, we will be introducing themed nights and charcuterie boards, among other experiences, ventures, and a bespoke built bar, so make sure you follow/like our social media pages and keep an eye on the weekly changing menu board outside Graze & Dine, Weymouth Street, Warminster.
