Kingdown School – “Shape Warminster’s Future” initiative from Warminster Town Council

Wednesday 11th March 2026

Shape Warminster’s Future” initiative from Warminster Town Council.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We would like to let you know about an exciting opportunity for students to have their voices heard in the â€œShape Warminster’s Future” initiative from Warminster Town Council.

Students are invited to take part in a short survey by scanning the QR code provided. The survey gives young people the chance to share their views on what is happening in Warminster and what they would like to see in the future.

The survey covers a range of important topics, including:

  • Sports and entertainment opportunities
  • Employment options for young people
  • Public transport
  • Supporting local businesses
  • Climate commitments
  • And much more

This is a great opportunity for students to contribute their ideas and help influence decisions that affect their community.

Please encourage your child to take a few minutes to scan the QR code and complete the survey so that their voice can be included.

Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,

Warminster Town Council has taken further steps to welcome visitors to the town as they continue to make Warminster a place to be proud of.

Two new ‘Welcome to Warminster’ planters have been installed with students from Kingdown School helping to fill them with beautiful flowers.

The new planters strengthen the town council’s commitment to making Warminster an attractive place for visitors and residents, complementing the recent installation of more than 80 hanging baskets around the town.

The new planters – which are situated at the entrance to Market Place – will also act as a barrier to prevent accidental vehicle access, improving pedestrian safety and creating a more secure environment for shoppers.

Stuart Legg, Parks and Estate Manager said: “These two new planters represent another part of Warminster Town Council’s wider commitment to maintaining pride across the town. We are continuing our message of being a welcoming thriving town.”

Sarah Miller from Kingdown School added: “The young people involved in phase one of this collaboration have been absolutely excellent.

“They have worked really hard with the support of the team at the Town Parks service. They’ve weeded, scrubbed and planted.

“The planters were a real highlight and they showed great creativity and teamwork. They are an absolute credit to their families and the school community and we are very proud of them.”

Kingdown School students are currently working with members of the Warminster Town Council Grounds Team as part of a new initiative, learning new skills as well as giving back to the local community.

The partnership is set to run all year round with students working on various projects within the Lake Pleasure Grounds, Grovelands, the Warminster Community Orchard and other public spaces in the town.
