The Warminster And West Wilts Herald, Saturday 16 April 1887, reported:
A draft from the West Cumberland Otter Hounds, hunted by Mr. H.W. Clift, of Newbury, had a capital day on Saturday in the Kennet, at Ramsbury Manor, near Hungerford, the seat of Sir Francis Burdett, killing three fine otters weighing respectively 16lb., 14lb., and 13½lb.
