“Edith & Big Bad Bill. Nazis having fun. Obsessive collectors. Ruth on the phone total killer. Cut-out women and even creepier. Kim Kardashian important book. Raw/vernacular. The meaningless of it. Don’t have a name beginning with g. Alec Soth’s bookshelf”

Wiltshire Wildlife Trust needs another £70,000 to secure the acquisition of 85 acres adjacent the Coombe Bisset Down Nature Reserve (£114,312 has been raised so far towards the £185,000 target). The Trust says this is an exciting and rare opportunity to purchase chalk grassland which has great strategic and conservation value. For all the details, see:

Owing to a landslide of 20 to 30 tonnes of soil and debris at Dinah’s Hollow, the C13 road at Melbury Abbas, between Shaftesbury and Blandford Forum is closed to all traffic and could remain closed for at least three days. Traffic is being diverted along the A350 Shaftesbury to Blandford road. Heavy rain and wind last night (Tuesday 8th/Wednesday 9th March 2016) caused the landslip, the force of which pushed concrete barriers (installed not long ago to hold back the up-to-60 degree angle banks) into the road. An estimate of £4 million has been mentioned to make the banks and the road safe in the future.

Did the superstitious ones and the traditionalists
among dannyhowell.net readers, remember to say
“White Rabbits” three times this morning before
uttering anything else to anyone?
Either to bring good luck, invoke pregnancy,
ward off evil, or not to have
to suffer the consequences of
“Pinch, punch, first of the month.”
Did you know, to be most effective you have to
say White Rabbits, three times,
up the chimney?
