Decision On Sutton Veny Poultry Farm Deferred

Thursday 6th December 2012

Although Wiltshire Council recently recommended approval for a chicken farm at Deverill Road, between Sutton Veny and Longbridge Deverill, the decision has now been deferred. The chicken farm, proposed by the 2 Sisters Food Group, was to raise over 200,000 birds at a time, on a site previously used for the same purpose but on a lesser scale. The application met with strong opposition from local residents, with 140 letters of objection and 400 names on a petition. For the latest information on the deferred decision see the BBC News Wiltshire website, click here.
