From the Wylye Deanery Magazine, July 1967:
Stapleford and Berwick St. James . . . . . Two days later at the Salisbury Triumph parishes were asked to be represented by a girl in white aged between eight and eleven. Susie Emm and Joy Hibberd were our representatives and everyone seems agreed it was a memorable day. It is reported that near £5,000 was raised over the weekend and that the halfway mark to the appeal target has already been reached. To the question Does an ancient building such as our cathedral serve a worthwhile purpose? The answer of public opinion is evidently, Yes.
