Deverills Archaeology Group

From the Deverills & Crockerton Parish News, May 2019:

Deverills Archaeology Group

The Deverills Archaeology Group will be excavating in Kingston Deverill from Thursday 6th – Tuesday 11th June [2019] inclusive.

in 2018 we surveyed the area between the cricket pitch and the river and found lots of interesting indications of Iron Age and Roman archaeology.

This year we have a chance to dig a number of small trenches at that site to explore in more detail what the surveys showed.

This is your chance to get involved in exploring one of your villages’ early history. Who knows what we might find?! (We hope not another unexploded mortar!)

If you are interested in getting hands on with your local archaeology then plesse get in touch at deverillsarchaeology.com
