Springfields Nursery Is Closing

Friday 17th February 2023

Springfields Nursery, adjacent the A36, at Upton Lovell, BA12 0JY, is closing.

Proprietor Martyn Spratt has announced the closure on social media. He writes: “It’s been a great 22 years and I have met some fantastic people along the way but it is time to close Springfields Nursery. It has not been an easy decision to make but the time feels right. Thank you for all your custom, but most of all thanks for the friendship you have shown me over the years. Martyn.”

T.H. Harraway & Son, Nurserymen, Warminster

In the Warminster chapter of The Victoria County History of Wiltshire, Volume VIII, published 1965, it is noted:

“The firm of T.H. Harraway and Son, nurserymen in Sambourne Road [Warminster] was founded in 1876; in 1963 it occupied some 20 acres of land for the production of rose and fruit trees, hedging plants, and cut flowers, and had a shop in the Market Place [Warminster].”
