From Martyn Spratt, Heytesbury & Codford FC:

A very good summer for Heytesbury & Codford FC first team.

The first game was for the Heytesbury Charity Shield. We welcomed our friends from Salisbury Sands United. A fantastic Charity who we are always happy to help whenever we can. We retained the shield in a competitive game and hopefully we can do it all again next year.

Dilton Wanderers were the next opponents. A 4-1 win with a couple of goals from captain Liam Gibbens, one for Dan Bodman and a goal for the returning Myles Woodward.

Our Festival of Football followed, some good football played on the hottest day of the year. Victories against our under 18s and our Veterans Team, who as always turned out to be very competitive. Always good to see some old friends who may be a bit slower but still know how to play the game. Thanks to Dave Kemmery for refereeing five games in a day.

Next up Bradford Town Reserves from Wilts Division one. A 5-2 win with another brace from Liam Gibbens, Louis Cole getting on the score sheet finding the top corner with a free kick from 20 yards. Louis Cripps and an own goal completing the scoring.

The final two games were against two very good teams from the Mid Somerset League division 1.

Mells and Vobster proved tough opposition, but a Chris Steele Hat trick resulted in a 3-1 win.

In the final game of the summer Coleford Athletic were the visitors. A close contest ended with a 1-1 draw with a Lewis Cripps goal, a good end to the friendly fixtures.

Good luck to all our visitors for the 2025/26 season.

A very good summer, nice to see some new faces and the return of some older ones. The league begins on the ninth of August with a trip to Freshford United.

Heytesbury & Codford FC ~ A Festival Of Football

Tuesday 15th July 2025

From Heytesbury & Codford FC:

A Festival of Football.

Thankyou to all those who supported our Festival of football on Saturday 12th July 2025 at Broadleaze, Codford.

It was great to welcome teams from Corsham Tigers U10s, Calne Town Youth Eagles and Warminster Highbury Youth U13s 25/26 to play our youth teams.

A special mention to Dave Kemmery he did a great job refereeing 5 matches on the hottest day of the year (so we can forgive the shorts). Dave has always supported the club, and it is appreciated by us all.

Thankyou to the many local people and businesses who supported the raffle, too many to mention individually here.

It was nice to be joined by representatives from Codford Biogas and the Warminster Area board and we thank them for their support.

We could not do it without the players. Aged from 8 years old to 60+ it was a pleasure to watch them play, and have such fun.

Some of the vets have not put their boots on for many years but showed they haven’t forgotten how its done.

Thanks to Codford Village Hall and Broadleaze Bar for their support.

And to all the people who helped on the day Thankyou.
