Warminster Bird Lady’s Christmas Treasure Hunt!

Saturday 21st December 2024

From Tanya Hinton:

It’s nearly time for the Warminster bird lady’s Christmas treasure hunt!

From 12 midday Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day I shall be hiding a little original oil painting in Warminster Town Park, finders keepers! For safety it won’t be hiding in the children’s playground or skate park and not on the banks of the lake and stream!

And PLEASE when it’s found send me a picture so I can call off the hunt!

Merry Christmas.

A Bear With An Axe At Hashtag Bad Hair

Friday 13th December 2024

From artist Tanya Hinton:

As many of you will probably know Hashtag Bad Hair [at 7 Silver Street, Warminster] had their window smashed so I have tried to brighten it up! This painting is on the inside so as not to distract from their Christmas window art! I’m sure they won’t mind anyone going in and taking a peek though, it’s a very cool salon and worth a visit!

Art By Tanya Hinton Supporting The Coffee Garden

Friday 6th December 2024

Last Saturday night (30th November 2024) vandals attacked shop fronts at Silver Street, Warminster. Among those damaged was the Coffee Garden, which had its window smashed, causing financial costs for repair and disruption to the business.

One of the first people to offer sympathy and support was Tanya Hinton, whose artwork – everything from birds to lemurs can be found on public view in Warminster on walls, doors and boarded-up windows. Tanya, in a message to the Coffee Garden after she saw the damage, wrote: “I’m so sorry to hear this! I would be happy to paint something on there for you which you could raffle when the board comes down to help recoup some of the costs!”

Tanya, true to her word, has now painted something really special on the window board. Today (Friday 6th December 2024) she writes:

After The Coffee Garden was vandalised and its window smashed last Saturday, I’ve given it a make over until the window is replaced! I’m happy to say the Coffee Garden is back open for business as usual! Do pop down and support this wonderful independent cafe (I can vouch that their coffee is excellent!)! I’ll be adding to the painting over the next few days to further fill the board, so do pop over regularly to check on my progress and sample their wares!

HORNINGSHAM ART HUB?

Are you a visual artist looking for a supportive community?

We have had some exciting chats with arts promoter Stephanie Edwards and artist Miles Cantelou Art recently! They would love to start a regular meet-up to connect with like-minded artists and become part of a vibrant community where we can share ideas, perfect our craft and exhibit diverse artwork at regular shows and we all agree that Horningsham Village Hall would be a wonderful place to base this creative hub!

All are welcome, whatever your medium – whether you paint, sculpt or blow glass we can provide a platform to showcase your talents and connect with fellow creatives.
