Thursday 21st August 2025

A man from Trowbridge has been sentenced to nine months in prison for multiple offences, including possession of an imitation firearm.

Marcin Raczak, 28, of Harford Street, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on August 15 after pleading guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, possession of Class A drugs, possession of an imitation firearm, and theft.

At around 4:25 p.m. on February 13, police received reports that two men had pulled out a firearm in Lidl, Warminster, when asked to leave. A second incident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. on July 4, when officers were called to Fore Street, Trowbridge, following reports that a man was threatening members of the public with a metal pole. Raczak was arrested, and upon searching his possessions, officers seized two large foil wraps containing amphetamine.

25 Year Old Man From Zeals Jailed After Pleading Guilty To Two Burglaries

Thursday 14th August 2025

From the Facebook page of Warminster Police:

A 25-year-old man has been jailed after pleading guilty to two burglaries on the same night in which vapes and alcohol were stolen.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates on Monday (11/08) Carter Light, of Westfields, Zeals, was handed a 16-month custodial sentence for his role in burgling Longbridge Service at Longbridge Deverill in Wiltshire, and the Murco Garage in Stalbridge, Dorset on 30th July.

PC Charlie Forster, of Wiltshire Police’s Burglary Team said: “Burglary can have a significant impact on those businesses affected. Aside from the obvious financial loss and disruption to trade, there is the emotional impact that such crimes have on hard working staff who are left to pick up the pieces.

Warminster Man Jailed For Two Years For Burglary And Harassment Of A Woman

Wednesday 30th July 2025

From the Facebook page of Warminster Police:

A man has been jailed and imposed with a 10-year restraining order for harassing and breaking into the home of a woman in Warminster.

Kane Thomas, 36, of Corner Ground, Warminster, appeared at Winchester Crown Court on Monday (28/07) after pleading guilty to burglary and harassment against the victim, a woman in her 30s.

He was jailed for two years.

On April 15 this year, following gradually escalating behaviour, Thomas turned up at the victim’s address in Warminster and tried to force entry by repeatedly kicking the front door and back gate.

Four days later, at around 5am on April 19, Thomas broke into the victim’s home through a small window while she was asleep and then smashed a TV, broke glasses in the kitchen and pulled doors off their hinges.

He has then threatened the victim, leaving her in fear for her safety.

Thomas was reported to police and following proactive enquiries, was arrested that evening. He was charged and remanded into custody.

Local Crime Investigator Sophie Vowles said: “Thomas is a dangerous individual who subjected the victim to an escalating level of violence and harassment.

“I would like to commend and thank the victim for her bravery and her co-operation throughout the process. She has shown immense bravery and her statements and support for the investigation has led to Thomas being put behind bars.

“I hope this will provide her with a degree of closure, reassurance and will allow her to move on with her life.

“Violence against women and girls is a priority for the Force and there is a significant amount of work going on across Wiltshire to tackle it in all its forms. No one should suffer abuse.”

Mindless Vandalism At The Coffee Garden

Sunday 1st December 2024

A message from the Coffee Garden, 4 Silver Street, Warminster:

“We are absolutely devastated to have been subjected to an act of mindless vandalism last night. Our front window was smashed completely through. Nothing was taken and the Police were quick to act but the damage had already been done.”

“Unfortunately we will be forced to closed until further notice whilst we get the necessary repairs done but please keep an eye on our page for more information on when we can reopen. After a fabulous day for the town yesterday that we felt a big part of, it’s a huge shame that some individuals felt the need to cause such an upset to our independent business. However we will be back as soon as possible.”

Damage To #Bad Hair At Silver Street, Warminster

Sunday 1st December 2024

From #badhair, 7 Silver Street, Warminster, BA12 8PS:

Unfortunately, last night some absolutely ********’s (whatever word you choose) decided to run rampant up Silver Street. Our window got a good kicking – they tried their hardest to break our glass but couldn’t bust through fortunately, however they have still done a lot of damage. We’re absolutely gutted. Sadly, we’re not the only small business to have had this done. @jamieblacklanterntattoo had his glass smashed, @thecoffeegarden_warminster had their whole front window smashed in and I believe another business did too. We’re lucky enough to be able to stay open safely, having the board on the inside to make sure no little hands get hurt but this is just such senseless shit that was unnecessary and so close to Christmas too.

There were a couple of locals who were very helpful when it happened last night, so thanks to them and thank you to The Coffee Garden for letting us know.

If anybody saw anything or has any information, please ping us a message – it’d be hugely appreciated,
