From the Keepmoat Blog: www.keepmoat.com/get-inspired/blog/keepmoat-invests-more-than-£50-million-to-deliver-227-new-homes-in-wiltshire

Keepmoat invests more than £50 million to deliver 227 new homes in Wiltshire.
We are investing more than £50 million in Warminster following exchange of contracts on a 24 acre plot of land situated south of Victoria Road.
Work is due to start in late 2025 at the development – now named Cley Hill View – to deliver 227 high-quality new homes, of which at least 30 per cent will be affordable homes.
As part of the significant £50 million commitment to the Wiltshire area, Keepmoat will also create new green spaces, and play areas alongside pedestrian, road and cycle routes to and from surrounding communities.
Expected to be completed in 2028, the development will offer a variety of much-needed multi-tenure one, two, three, and four-bedroomed homes, catering to first-time buyers, working professionals, and families.
Ben Leather, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat West Midlands, said: “Keepmoat is excited to announce contracts have successfully been exchanged on Cley Hill View. Acquisition of this land highlights Keepmoat’s commitment to providing quality homes in the South West of England and aligns with our ambitious growth plans in the region.
“With Wiltshire experiencing a population increase of 8.4 percent from 2011 to 2021 , the demand for housing has grown significantly. We’re pleased to be contributing towards addressing the region’s housing shortage.
“Keepmoat’s Cley Hill View development will not only provide new homes, it will also create a thriving new community. In addition, we will be creating strong employment, apprentice and training opportunities for local contractors and labourers.”
All of the homes at Cley Hill View will be delivered in line with the Future Homes Standard, including renewable energy systems such as air source heat pumps, solar panels and EV charging points to help residents save on energy bills.

Press release from Warminster Town Council:
Warminster Town Council has awarded significant investment to upgrade Warminster Athenaeum.
In line with the recommendations of the CIL Working Group, councillors approved £30,000 for stage technology upgrades and £5,000 for emergency roof repairs with money coming from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). This was match funded by a grant of £30,000 from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
The investment will allow Wiltshire’s oldest working theatre to purchase a new lighting desk, dimmer packs and replace microphones – enabling Warminster Athenaeum to maintain existing enthusiastic groups and continue to attract high quality touring acts to the town. Additional funding will be spent repairing the roof damaged in Storm Darragh, protecting the building for the future.
The decision was made by councillors at a Full Council meeting on Monday 13th January and is part of a wider aim of investing in and maintaining Warminster assets – making the town an attractive place to live and work.
Cllr Steve Jeffries said: “I was thrilled that the town council has voted to award this essential funding to the Athenaeum. This funding will allow the Athenaeum to upgrade and replace existing out of date equipment, with modern energy efficient replacements, which will enable this wonderful facility to continue putting on brilliant shows for the local community.”
CIL is a planning charge payable by developers on any new development. The Warminster Town Council policy is that its share of the CIL should be spent on investment in the public realm and public facilities that support the community.
Warminster Athenaeum will report back to Warminster Town Council on the completion of the project.

Message from Nick and Sandy at The Lodge, Henford Marsh, Warminster:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of The Lodge (formerly Hunters Moon) after 22 incredible years of serving our community.
This decision has been incredibly difficult, but the rising costs of suppliers, utilities, breweries, services in general and increases due to legislation have made it no longer sustainable for us to continue operating.
We want to express our deepest gratitude to our loyal customers, staff, and community who have supported us through the years. From our days as Hunters Moon to becoming The Lodge, this journey has been filled with countless memories, laughter, and friendships.
Thank you for being a part of our story. Though our doors are closing, the memories we’ve shared will remain forever in our hearts.
With heartfelt thanks,
Nick, Sandy, the family and the rest of the team.
