Owl Close is one of six residential streets named after birds of prey, on the western side of Warminster. (The other four streets with bird of prey names in this locality are Eagle Road, Falcon Road, Kestrel Close, Kyte Road, and Osprey Road). (Kyte Road has been misspelt with a ‘Y’ instead of an ‘I’).
Owl Close is a cul-de-sac accessed off Osprey Road. The entrance/exit to Owl Close is between Nos.54 and 56 Osprey Road. No.2 Owl Close is on the entrance corner, next up from 54 Osprey Road.
Owl Close is ‘T’ shaped and comprises seven detached houses. Three have odd numbers – Nos.1, 3 and 5. Four have even numbers – Nos.2, 4, 6 and 8.
On the western side of Owl Close, behind a hedge and fence, are the sports pitches of Warminster Rugby Club. There is a pedestrian gate in this hedge/fence, between Owl Close and the sports pitches of the Rugby Club, but at the present time (March 2023) it is padlocked. Adjacent the gate is a sign, facing Owl Close, which reads: ‘No dogs allowed on the playing fields.’
Owl Close was built by Redrow in 2019, as part of the Tascroft Rise development.
