At first glance, this rounded slab at the rear of 54 Market Place, Warminster,looks a bit like a gravestone
or an equally-weathered milestonevor parish boundary maker.
But it’s none of these!
It was obviously placed here to prevent vehicles on their way out of Main’s Yard from striking the steel pillar that supports steps to the flats on the first floor above and at the rear of what was until not so long ago Moreton’s Cafe.
