Dogs Are Not Allowed In Warminster’s Play Parks For Children

Friday 25th July 2025

Press release from Warminster Town Council:

𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 – 𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬.

Warminster Town Council is issuing a friendly reminder that dogs are not allowed in children’s play park areas in Warminster (except guide dogs).

The town council is reminding dog owners to be respectful to this rule, which is in place for safety reasons – following an increase of dogs in council managed play parks around the town.

Some young children are afraid of dogs, and being around them in a play park area can cause distress.

The town council manages nine play park areas in Warminster. They are situated at: The Lake Pleasure Grounds, Portway, Queensway, The Dene, Princess Gardens, The Beeches, Pound Street, Fore Street, and The Heathlands.

New Homes At Bradley Road, Warminster

From West Wilts Matters magazine, Issue No.9, March 1997, published by West Wiltshire District Council:

New Homes At Bradley Road, Warminster

In the September edition of ‘Clipboard‘, the magazine for the tenants of West Wiltshire District Council, a photo on page 3 was captioned “Boreham Field/Queensway Development Group surveying the land at Bradley Road where 38 new homes will be built by West Wiltshire Housing Society”. We must point out that this did not pre-empt the decision of the Council’s Planning Committee regarding the planning application, which was judged on its merits. Planning consent has now been given, subject to the Secretary of State’s approval.
