Warminster Town Council has welcomed another step towards the opening of a new Lounges café bar in the town.

The Rastrello Lounge is set to open in September occupying the now empty Lloyds Bank building at 37 Market Place. The informal café bar will be open all day for breakfast, brunch and lunch, or a relaxed dinner and drinks.

Councillor Phil Keeble said: “The town council is delighted to see the old Lloyds Bank building is being brought back into use as a Loungers café bar restaurant.

“A venue such as this was near the top of the list when we asked people about what extra facilities the town could do with.

“It is encouraging to have yet another firm investing in Warminster. It will be a boost to the town centre and brings extra employment too.”

Councillor Keeble added: “I am hopeful that we will shortly have more good news about a number of currently empty buildings in the town centre. I hope people will support and use the new businesses investing in Warminster and that will in turn encourage other people to locate here.

“We know that the seasonal markets have made a significant difference to footfall and sales, as have other measures supported by the town council.

“Town centres are evolving particularly due to online shopping, but the town council remains committed to supporting a vibrant mix that serves both residents of and visitors to Warminster.”

The Town Council resolved that it had no objection to the planning application at the site of the Rastrello Lounge, 37, Market Place, Warminster at a Planning Advisory Committee held on Monday 16th June 2025.

Warminster Town Council and the Warminster Business Network are preparing for the Warminster Independent Summer Market on Sunday 29th June with more than 150 exciting stalls, food vendors and entertainment in the High Street, Market Place, Weymouth Street and in the Civic Centre.
