A male and female have been arrested following successful use of the Warminster and Westbury CCTV partnership on Monday 7th October.
Sports Direct alerted Shopwatch to reports of a male and female stealing a pair of Nike trainers. The individuals were swiftly located by CCTV.
Wiltshire Police were quickly contacted, given detailed descriptions and arrived at the scene – after a short chase both a male and female were arrested for theft. One was arrested for going equipped.
Both were taken to Melksham Police Station and the property returned to Sports Direct.
A Warminster and Westbury CCTV spokesperson said: “We are taking action and working quickly with local shops to stop shoplifters in our town. Our vigilant CCTV operators and officers will continue to work together to help protect Warminster.â€
