The Were (The Smallbrook Stream) Has Flooded Smallbrook Road Adjacent The Smallbrook Meadows Nature Reserve, Warminster

Saturday 4th January 2014

The murky scene at Smallbrook Road, Warminster,
outside the eastern entrance to the Smallbrook
Meadows Nature Reserve after the water of the
swollen Were stream flooded over the road.

This used to be a ford until the bridge was built here.
Today it returned to being a deep ford.

Photographs taken by Danny Howell.

Heavy rain took the Were over its banks.

A car marooned in the Smallbrook Meadows
Nature Reserve car park. Earlier, the car had
come to a halt in the flooded road. The
occupants were rescued and helped to safety.

As the sun goes down, there is no sign
of the waters receding.
