Danny Howell is taking a photograph outside the Regal Court apartments block at Weymouth Street, Warminster, when an elderly man, wearing an overcoat and a cap, dodging the snow and ice on the pavement, comes from the direction of Morrisons Supermarket.
Man: “Are you thinking of buying a flat?”
DH: “No.”
Man: “Are you an estate agent?”
DH: “No, I’m not an estate agent.”
Man: “So why are you taking a photograph?”
DH: “I’m photographing the snow on those bushes.”
Man: “What for?”
DH: “Because it looks pretty.”
Man: “I look pretty, don’t I? But you haven’t asked to take my photograph.”
DH: (Changing the subject): “Do you live in Regal Court?”
Man: “Yes I do.”
DH: “Do you like it.”
Man: “Well, I live there, don’t I?”
DH: “But do you like it?”
Man: “Well, the women outnumber the men by about four to one in there.”
DH: “Sounds dangerous! Do you lock your door at night?”
Man: (joking we think): “Let’s put it like this. I’m working on a plan to get the master key that unlocks all the rooms!”
