The preacher at Whitbourne Chapel, Corsley, on 25th November 2012, will be John Coxhead from Westbury, who turned to God in his teens. The preacher was a Welsh evangelist, who spoke on Psalm 23, verse 1: “The Lord is My shepherd, I shall not want .” John left that meeting feeling uneasy about his future and pledged himself to God the very next day. John was brought up on a farm, but helped a friend with a building project and became a builder himself until he retired. He and wife Mary have been married 49 years and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. His son Andrew is a regular preacher at Whitbourne, and was the featured preacher last month. John’s favourite verse from the Bible is Isaiah 26, verse 3: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.” John’s sermons often include some of his own experiences.
