Warminster Town Councillors have agreed to
purchase a new flag pole for
Warminster Civic Centre.
This is to replace the current pole, which has
been declared totally inaccessible. The lanyard
starts at roof height and necessitates the use
of a very long ladder before flags can be
raised or lowered. The lanyard and fittings have
also been deemed no longer fit for purpose.
Members of the Council’s Finance and Assets
Committee approved the acquisition of a new
flagpole at a meeting held on
Monday 5th November 2012.
The Hampshire Flag Company will supply the
new pole and install it at a cost of £966.
In future, a flag will be flown on special occasions,
which the Council says will help restore civic pride.
