A new series of ‘Then & Now’, by Trevor Porter, begins in today’s Wiltshire Times (Friday 24th February 2012), with Horningsham as the latest village to be portrayed in words and pictures. The Church of St. John The Baptist, comes under scrutiny, and Trevor notes that “the original church was built in 1154, with the then Lord of Horningsham, Sir Robert de Vernon, choosing the site overlooking Longleat Park.”
