Josephine Stansfield, Olive Stratton’s daughter writes:
Olive was the sixth of Frank Stratton’s eight daughters, she was the only fair haired one and for that reason was, I think, rather spoiled. She was educated at school in Ealing. When she was about twenty-two she went to Canada to a family in Vancouver to help with their children. She returned to England just before the Great War and married my father James Stewart in 1915. I was born in 1916; my father was killed later in that same year. Mother and I then lived at home with my grandmother, my mother and my aunt Mary (Bill) sharing the housekeeping. Olive married again in 1942 to Arnold Young and we moved to Chisenbury where he was farming with his brother. After Arnold died in 1963, Olive moved to Rushall where she lived until her death in 1978. Olive and James had one child: Josephine [born] 1916.
