Bruce Watkin, in his Bishopstrow Village Trail leaflet, produced in 1984, later incorporated into the book Trails In And Around Warminster published in 1985, noted:
The Cottage (or Barrow Cottage) is an 18th century 2-storey house of brick with stone dressings. It was originally two cottages now combined into one house. Extensions at the rear are in rubble stone and brick. The elevation facing the road has a handsome 2-storey projecting bay.
