In Christ Church, Warminster, The First 150 Years, a booklet published in October 1980, to celebrate the 150th birthday of Christ Church, the Rev. John C. Day (Vicar) writes:
. . . Weymouth Street, with the Town Hall on the corner [of Market Place], alas no longer public property. The building was given to the community by the then Lord Bath. Its foundation stone was laid on the same day as that of Christ Church.
