Prestbury House And Fields To The South – The Changing Face Of Warminster

Wilfred Middlebrook, in The Changing Face Of Warminster, first written in 1960, updated in 1971:

Prestbury House itself was renovated in 1969 as the new Conservative Club, while the surrounding grounds [and the adjacent fields of Smallbrook Farm] have blossomed out into a huge housing estate that extends south to Smallbrook Lane and east to the top of Boreham Hill. Complete with its own shops, this ambitious project has given new street names to Warminster, such as Prestbury Drive, Southleigh View, Willow Crescent and St. John’s Road.
