From the Wylye Deanery Magazine, July 1967:
Stapleford and Berwick St. James. June got off to a special start with the Bishop of Salisbury spending an evening answering questions about Christian faith and conduct from members of the Ruridecanal Conference. Some people have been concerned that the Church is not having the influence it should on the life of our nation. Questions sent in were few but there were plenty of supplementaries from the floor. It was a thought-provoking occasion. Would something of this kind receive support on a parochial level? No one knows all the answers but an exchange of views can be enlightening.
