Bishopstrow, 1960 Directory Description

Bishopstrow is a pretty little village 1½ miles east of Warminster on the Salisbury road. It is overlooked by two ancient Camps, known as “Scratchbury” and “Battlesbury.” The river Wylye flows through the village. The Church of St. Aldhelm is a small stone building with a square embattled tower. It was rebuilt, except for the tower, in 1757.
