Dinton

Dinton
Covering an area of 3,403 acres, Dinton is situated on the River Nadder, eight miles from Salisbury, and is served by its own railway station on the Southern Region, while Wilton Station is five and a half miles distant.

The Parish Church of St. Mary is a stone building illustrative of various architectural styles – Transition Norman, Early English, Decorated and Perpendicular, with an embattled tower containing a clock and six bells. The Registers date from 1558.

Also in the village is a Methodist chapel; and the Victory Hall, erected as a memorial to those who fell in the Great War. Dinton House, which is now in use as a holiday home, is a large stone building from the windows of which magnificent views may be obtained.

The village is served by its own Post, Money Order and Telegraph Office.
