The Warminster Official Guide, issued under the auspices of Warminster Urban District Council, published August 1936, noted:
Boreham Road is, perhaps, the favourite residential district with its well-built Victorian houses and tree-lined paths, but lately it has had a rival in Westbury Road close under Arn Hill, where a new street has developed.
