The Warminster Official Guide, issued under the auspices of Warminster Urban District Council, published August 1936, noted:
The principal industries are gloving and the manufacture of silk, besides which there is employment in agricultural engineering, chairmaking, sawmilling, wood-distilling, corn milling, paint manufacture, malting and seed-growing.
